Chickens aren't the only ones who like cantaloupe.

4th of July

Justin's fireworks...he has them all wired together so he just lights one fuse and then this thing blows up for 20+ minutes.  It's quite the show.

 Pinterest project from last year.

6/26/14----Helens first egg was laid!!!

 These eggs are DELICIOUS!

On 7/1/14---Dorothy laid her first egg!!! Helen's egg is on the left, Dorothy's on the right.

Two days later, Dorothy laid a bigger egg! (Dorothy's on left, Helen's on right)

 another Helen egg

Today Dorothy laid an even bigger egg!

The Silkies

On June 8 (soon after the death of our only silkie), Justin & I went to Lawrence to retrieve 4 silkie chicks I had found on Craigslist.  They were assorted ages ranging from 1-4 weeks old.  We named them Kiwi #2, Peaches, Blueberry & Blackberry.  Blackberry died the very next day, I'm guessing due to Cocci.
 Blueberry

 Kiwi

  Peaches

I wanted the silkies to be very human friendly so I started getting them out during the day and let them hang out on the couch with me.

The LOVE peaches & cantaloupe.

Just recently they have started outdoor field trips.

how cute are these fuzzy butts?
