Now these are fun (and easy!). Just buy alcohol inks and alcohol blender and some blank white tiles (I got 50 4"x4" tiles at Menards for $8!)
Squirt some of the blender and spread it evenly over the tile, then just spot the inks on the tile. You can blow on it to blend the colors together a bit.
They would look great as a tile table or something!
Hi! Your tiles turned out BEAUTIFUL! We have been working on some tiles ourselves the last two weeks. Did you seal your tiles with anything? Just curious how it worked for you. Thanks!!!

Thanks!! I sealed some of them with a polyurethane spray, but I haven't really put them through a scratch test yet. I think they are going to need a few coats to be sealed well. I plan on having my hubby make a coffee table with several tiles built in to the top!
ReplyDeleteI have made these and used Modge Podge and the spray. I do both to be sure. I just love how these turn out. There are just so many possibilities with the color combos. I love yours, did you stamp on them after? or is that even stamping?
ReplyDeleteI used a stamp with ink, then covered with embossing powder, then heated with a heat gun to create the raised stamp effect. I stamped them before I used the alcohol ink. I was really proud of the way they came out.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is really cool Carla. I would love to make a patio table top with my own creative tiles. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa! Thanks for checking out my blog. I haven't made a table top yet with these, but it's on my spring/summer to do list!...I'll post a pic once it's made.
